TenderCare Dental a Portland, Oregon Dentist is proud to announce their sponsorship of the Bonny Slope Elementary Jog-A-Thon on May 10th. This is the 5th Annual Jog-A-Thon to be held at Bonny Slope Elementary in the Beaverton School District and it’s goal is raise money that will be used to support programs that directly enrich the kids’ education, such as Artist in Residence, the Community Garden, Teachers’ Grants, and Educational Support, to name a few.
This event will take place rain or shine on Friday, May 10th, during Rhythms for most grade levels. Students will have 20 minutes to walk, jog, or run as many laps as they can on the outdoor track. Students are asked to work with an adult to solicit pledges to sponsor them on either a “per-lap” or “flat rate” basis.
Bonny Slope Elementary encourages the kids to talk with friends, neighbors, and relatives for donation pledges. They also are using the firstgiving.com site again this year to solicit on-line donations from family and friends near and far. Parents are asked to help their child create their own fundraising page on this website and obtain on-line pledges.
If you are interested in donating prizes for the Jog-A-Thon, please contact Bonny Slope Elementary as soon as possible. Anything kid-friendly is very much appreciated (ie. Nike or Adidas apparel, Timbers or Trailblazers tickets, iPods, Pump It Up passes, etc.).
Also they are looking for parent volunteers for the day of the Jog-A-Thon. They will need help with each grade level, organizing kids, punching lap cards, counting punches, offering snacks. Please consider helping out at this fun event. Sign up here……http://www.signupgenius.com/
