Dr. Hana Walkup, a TenderCare Beaverton Dentist, began her dental career path at Portland State University where she majored in biology with a special interest in foreign languages. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from PSU, she continued on to attend dental school at Oregon Health and Science University and received her DMD degree in 2006.

Since entering the dental profession, she has completed extensive continuing education in all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry including training in Invisalign clear braces. She considers the most enjoyable aspects of her work have been educating patients on the importance of prevention and dental health, and making patients less anxious about their dental treatment. Before joining TenderCare, she worked in a busy group practice in downtown Portland where she felt privileged to turn the dental experience into something positive for patients with anxiety about seeing a dentist.

As a TenderCare Beaverton Dentist, Dr. Walkup feels this way about her relationship with patients: “I sincerely enjoy being a general dentist to partner with my patients in making them comfortable and as they make decisions over their dental needs and overall health. As a volunteer, my passion is working with children. I worked with Medical Teams International providing dental treatment to uninsured children in this area. I also enjoy participating in Give Kids A Smile events.”

Away from the office, Dr. Walkup and her husband are keeping busy with their young baby daughter, and she tries to stay in shape with yoga and long hikes with the family.
